What‘s inside the Montessori Academy ?
In a Montessori college / Academy , the disciplines are not just academic subjects. Students are involved in groups dealing with practical projects that enhance as well academic subjects as manual labor. Theoretical knowledge is used in solving daily and real problems, which allows a back and forth between theory and practice. Young people work together and do not compete.
Montessori College of Morvan will be in a farm, to be able to give teens a place of full nature experimentation. The farm for the Montessori pedagogy is an environment ideally prepared, which offers to young teenagers some opportunities of concrete achievements. In a place like this, teens can take responsibilities of the adult world. They can get involved in the work of the farm, from production to sale.
Teenagers are welcomed in a residence, supervised by adults. They take responsibility for the maintenance of the place (activities related to collective life, various repairs, cleaning, meals ...). But what is the most specific to the Montessori College / Academy is that the teens community will be able to have all activities in connection with the educational farm and gardens like: maintenance, buildings construction, purchase of materials, preparation (jam, honey ...), sale of farm products, as well as the management of a cottage to receive visitors, stakeholders, parents ..
